Classes In Evansville
June 22, 2008
So that everyone can see the cute little bag that Jill made this past Saturday…
Isn’t it adorable??????
Now here’s one I got done too.
June 12, 2008
I have managed to schedule classes for the rest of the year, so here is the schedule and you can mark your calendars for which ones you are interested in. These dates are all Saturdays too.
August 23, 2008 10-3:30 - Pieces of 8 Jacket
This jacket consists of a sweatshirt with fabric strips foundation pieced onto it. Great little jacket for cooler weather. Looks good with jeans or slacks. Mine is made with batiks from Sew Tech. Supply list is below.
October 18, 2008 - 10-3:30 - 4 Patch Posy
January 17, 2009 - 10-3:30 - 4 Patch Posy
I am scheduling two dates for this one, so you have a choice of when you can take the class. I am also going to only take 10 people in each class, so if you have a favorite date, you might want to get your name in early. I am expecting a lot of response when I get my sample into the shop.
(This sample is not quite finished; I will post another pic when I get it totally done!)
November 1, 2008 - 10-3:30 - Alpine Star
Lovely pieced wallhanging from Lynette Jenson! Have it ready in time for Christmas! This sample is made with Thimbleberries fabrics.
And that’s it for my 2008 classes at Sew Tech. I don’t schedule in December because people are just so busy, including me!

Supply List
“Using large floral designs and fabric repeats, create this quick and easy 4-patch kaleidoscope quilt top with Kathy Sands. Each block will be a surprise as you cut and sew and learn this fun technique.”
Pattern: $8 plus tax
You need to purchase a large floral print with at least a 12 inch repeat design. Four 12 inch pattern repeats will make enough blocks for a twin size quilt. You will need 8 -12 repeats if you make a queen or king. Below is a chart to show you how much fabric you need to purchase for a twin size. The larger repeats will yield more blocks. The blocks will be approximately 5 inches square.
If your fabric has a: You will need to purchase:
12 inch repeat ————————– 1 3/8 yds.
14 inch repeat————————— 1 ¾ yds.
16 inch repeat—————————— 2 yds.
18 inch repeat——————————2 ½ yds.
Larger quilts will require additional fabric in repeats of 4!
Ask the person cutting your fabric to help you with understanding the repeats. If you want to wait until the day of class, I can help you with it. Do not prewash fabric.
The pattern sample uses an 8 inch outer border that needs to be the same fabric as the focus fabric. Buy accordingly or make sure you can buy more fabric should you need it. The twin size needs 2 yds. Plan accordingly if you want to make a queen or larger. You can always use a narrower border if you like.)

Flat head flower pins
